Michigan G Kobe Bufkin to give up eligibility, enter draft

Michigan sophomore guard Kobe Bufkin announced Sunday that he is entering the 2023 NBA Draft, with the program confirming he had decided to give up his remaining eligibility.

Bufkin made the announcement on social media, thanking his family, coaches, teammates and friends for their support.

"It has been an amazing experience, being a part of such an iconic university," the Michigan native wrote.

The former McDonald's All-American becomes the latest Wolverines starter to leave the program. Center Hunter Dickinson entered the transfer portal, and freshman guard Jett Howard, son of Michigan coach Juwan Howard, also is entering the draft.

Bufkin started 33 games for the Wolverines during the season, averaging 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

The Wolverines were 18-16 in the 2022-23 season and did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
