Former Ohio State WR commit being chased by Florida schools, UGA

Hailing from Cocoa Florida, it's not all that surprising that four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs could end up staying in the state.

After all, when he was committed to Ohio State, he was looking at playing for a university basically on the other side of the world as far as a high school recruiting is concerned. Yes, Ohio State is one of the best college football programs in the country, but proximity to home can never be discounted as a factor on the recruiting trail.

Boggs decommitted from OSU on March 26th and now the likes of MIami, Florida and UCF are hot on the trail after his commitment. Even when he was committed to OSU, though – a decision he made in October, 2023, it's not as those schools completely forgot about him.

In fact, the four-star wideout recently told On3 that his commitment to OSU had in no way changed the way other programs were looking at him.

“Schools are still pursuing me to the fullest because they’re telling me they still want me at their school,” Boggs said. “Signing day’s a long way away, so they’re telling me they’re going to keep showing me (love) and keep pursuing me to the end.”

If Boggs doesn't stay in state, it's worth keeping an eye on Georgia as well. Per 247Sports, he will be visiting Athens this upcoming weekend.

Considered a slot receiver, Boggs is the No. 24 wideout in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports composite board. He caught 93 passes for 1,504 yards and 24 touchdowns in his junior season for Cocoa High School.
