Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander missed the start of Spring Training 2.0 due to testing positive for the coronavirus.
Per ESPN, the 25-year-old confirmed the news during a Wednesday Zoom call and explained he has recovered.
"Now I'm healthy and not contagious," Santander said. "Happy to be back on the field with my teammates. I'm looking forward to the season."
He explained that he tested positive upon his arrival at the team's summer camp in early July and that his symptoms were mild.
Santander hit .261 with 20 home runs and 59 RBI in 93 games and 380 at-bats last season.
As of Wednesday, fellow outfielder Dwight Smith Jr. remained absent from Baltimore's summer camp for undisclosed reasons.
