NBA Fan Points Out A ‘Washed’ Michael Jordan Managed To Lead The Wizards With Kwame Brown To A Better Record Than The Lakers With LeBron James, Anthony Davis, And Russell Westbrook

Michael Jordan had a sensational career in the NBA. He saw a lot of success throughout his career. But most of his achievements came during his time with the Chicago Bulls.

After all, Mike spent most of his career in Chicago and made the Bulls a dynasty. After winning the sixth NBA Championship of his career, the Bulls dynasty split up, and MJ retired for the second time in his career.

However, he couldn't stay away from the game of basketball for long. He returned to the NBA in 2001, but this time around donned the jersey of the Washington Wizards. He played two seasons for the Wizards and, in his final season alongside Kwame Brown, led the Wizards to a 37-45 record.

That doesn't sound that good. But you might not have noticed that the 2021-22 Los Angeles Lakers featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, finished the season with just 33 wins to their name.

Yes, a superteam won four fewer games than a team that featured Mike on his last legs. While there were many reasons for the Lakers' abysmal season, it is still a very surprising fact.

Upon realizing that a 'washed' MJ with Kwame Brown as his second-best player outplayed the trio of LBJ, AD, and Russ, NBA fans reacted in various ways. Most weren't happy to see the post as it seemed a huge stretch to compare the two teams.

I can say the same thing about those wizards. They had Charles Oakley (former allstar and HOFer), Larry Hughes, Jerry Stackhouse (x2 all star that also avged more than MJ), and Christain Laettner (all star and 1992 dream team member and HOFer). Point? Also LBJ played 56 games this season. Jordan played 82 in 2002-03. LBJ could've easily won +4 games out of 26. Horrible take.

It's true that MJ's Wizards won more games that season, but as pointed out by a plethora of fans, context matters. While MJ was on his last legs, the rest of the team around him was at least healthy throughout the season.

In the case of the Lakers, even LeBron James managed to play just 56 games. Had he played more games, he would have certainly helped the Lakers win at least four more games.
