Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon wasn't exactly optimistic about the status of receiver Marquise Brown following the team's 45-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

When asked whether he was concerned about Brown's ongoing heel injury, Gannon responded, "I am."

"It's been going on for a little bit," Gannon said during the postgame press conference. "He's trying to grind through. He's a warrior, and we need him. But if he can't go, he can't go. Obviously, that hurts us, because he's a good player."

Brown, who was questionable heading into the game, came out vs. the 49ers in the third quarter. He finished Week 15 with no touches. Brown has started every game this season but has appeared on the team's injury report each week since Week 12 with the heel injury.

At this point, with the team sitting at 3-11, it may be worth considering sitting Brown for the rest of the season to avoid further aggravation of his injury.

Kyler Murray, others had more positive injury notes

Two other Cardinals players exited the Week 15 game at some point, but returned later on: quarterback Kyler Murray and tight end Trey McBride.

McBride ended up finishing the day with 102 yards, while Murray finished with 211 yards passing, one score and two picks after missing just a handful of plays. Both players seemed to be fine following their returns and in their postgame pressers.

"He's tough as hell," Gannon said about McBride. "He wants to play. He's a high productive player for us."

One player who was questionable entering the game with a neck injury was receiver Michael Wilson. He ended the day with no catches, but Gannon had positive things to say about Wilson's return after missing the last three games.

"I thought he was good," Gannon said in response to a question about Wilson's injury. "There's no sign of ... any residual effects or anything like that."
