Ravens’ Derrick Henry Doesn’t Hold Back About The 2024 Season

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry has achieved a whole lot throughout his NFL career, but he is missing one major thing: a Super Bowl ring.

Henry signed with the Ravens in free agency after spending his first eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans, and now, he is ready to hoist some hardware.

“I really want to hold that trophy up at the end of the year,” Henry said, via Clifton Brown of the Ravens’ official team website. “But it starts right now putting the work in.”

Henry signed a two-year, $16 million deal with Baltimore last month.

The 30-year-old is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played every game and rushed for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 4.2 yards per carry en route to his fourth Pro Bowl appearance.

Henry, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was selected by the Ravens in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

After a couple of rather uneventful seasons to begin his career, Henry broke out in his third year, totaling 1,059 yards and 12 scores. He then proceeded to lead the league in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in 2019 and 2020, topping out at 2,027 yards and 17 scores in the latter campaign.

Henry went on to miss half of the 2021 campaign, but in 2022, be bounced back by racking up 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Yulee, Fl. native may not be the same elite rusher he was several years ago, but he is still a productive halfback who should be able to improve Baltimore’s offense.

Whether or not Derrick Henry will bring enough to the table to help the Ravens win a championship remains to be seen.
