Olivier Giroud has decided that this will be his last season at AC Milan as he will depart for the United States once the current campaign is done.

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) confirms that Giroud has now made his decision on his future as a player: he will not sign a renewal with the Rossoneri and will instead head to Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.

Giroud has scored 14 goals and has added nine assists in 36 games this season, but wil lsign 18-month contract (thus expiring on 31 December 2025) with LAFC.

It is the franchise that Giorgio Chiellini and Hugo Lloris currently play at and Gareth Bale was there too. Speaking of Lloris, he is someone that the striker knows well from his time with France and he is likely to have played a part.

Before leaving Milan after three years of service plus many beautiful and decisive goals, Giroud – who won a Scudetto with the Rossoneri in 2022 – wants to win another trophy: the Europa League.

He has already won it with Chelsea in 2018-19, also ending as the top scorer in that tournament, and would like to repeat the feat with Stefano Pioli’s side.

Furthermore, Giroud is four goals away from reaching his best career result in a single season. In short, the Frenchman wants to go out with a bang.
